As in the incident at the Braintree Mall a couple of months ago cops dressed like imperial storm troopers with rifles show up an hour after the incident is over to put on a show of force scaring the s**t out of children. The above video is an excellent illustration of overkill.

I was literally driving by when I saw all the cops converging on Revere. I thought Jonny Two Times was going to get the papers the papers.

A guy can't even get a pound of Gabbagool without having to sit in traffic any more.

It's about it being sad that even in a family environment you get people shooting with total disregard. Just because something isn't new doesn't mean we shouldn't be outraged about it.

Your exact subject line was:

Can't even take your kids to a carnival anymore.

Which led me to question your statement, given historical crime statistics and recollection.

Show me exactly where I said that it was not outrageous? You can't. It isn't there. Sorry.

And my recollection includes plenty of trips to fairs and amusement parks without any violence rising to the shootings, but maybe we frequented different parks so I can't presume to know what your experiences have been.

Also, I am of the mindset that things, and this world, are getting worst, not better. Which maybe you disagree on as well. So in my mind that qualifier 'anymore' is warranted and true.

I'm pretty sure he was just lamenting the fact that this stuff happens. not commenting on this being a new thing.

I was on a plane on approach to Logan and was spotting landmarks out the window.

That explains the rotobeam convention in the area. I could see the lights from all the emergency vehicles in one area!

Kind of sad that we still have people in the age of cameras everywhere and intense coverage of such crimes who think that doing this in a large public gathering is a good idea - like they won't get caught or killed doing it.

There are far too many guns around, and guns are far too accessible. Way too many people who really have no business around firearms at all get access to them, which is quite sad...and dangerous, to boot.
