Three cars hit by gunfire in Cambridge

Cambridge Police report they are investigating gunfire at Sciarappa and Hurley streets around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday - and that they will step up patrols in the area.

Police found shell casings outside apartments on the 100 block of Sciarappa. Nobody was injured, but three cars suffered damage.

Nearby residents reported possibly observing a newer model motor vehicle leaving the area towards the CambridgeSide Galleria at a high rate of speed after the gunshots were fired.

Ryan Seay, who lives in one of the apartments, reports:

It happened outside of our window. It was a quick succession of pops and then a car quickly speeding away. I only heard it, but with the speed between the two sounds, I can't imagine anyone even exited a vehicle to fire the shots.
