No injuries, but several businesses along Centre Street near the Bank of America parking lot lost power when the manhole lost its top, Ted Cooper reports.

Clearly this should have happened on the seedy part of West Roxbury on the VFW.

WR has the same issue we have in Mission Hill. The Chief Commanders for the district were eliminated by Tom Menino. Now our taxes have been raised with this property surcharge. This affects our property insurance rates. Aside from the public safety factor, whent there is a situation in our neighborhoods we shouldn't have to wait for another Chief from a different part of the city to arrive and control the situation. If our taxes are going to rise, the level of service should rise with it. I know in Mission Hill we have hospitals, labs, biohazards, and chemical facilities. In West Rox they have that gas pipeline and whatever other hazards exist there. It's about time that the Menino cuts to public safety are restored. Thank you.

Im sure N-Star was behind it. Oh wait, I think they may have changed their name again. They used to be called BOSTON EDISON but for legal reasons, this company has changed its name several dozen times. They are the main electric utility supplier in the greater Boston area. This company has a history of planned and un-planned explosions, electrocutions, murder and several other deadly mayhem incidents.
