Alex Reimer out for now for blasting Tom Brady's five-year-old daughter.

Among those criticizing Reimer: A dictionary.

The correct term for a 5 year old is not "pissant". It's "poopyhead".

And the one this guy picks for his Twitter cover photo is Donald Trump.

It appears to be a joke. I don't get the sense from his other tweets that he is a Trump fan.

I'm no huge fan and his Svengali is nuts, but to jump to the defense of his kids makes him awesome (for a day.)

It makes him a DAD.

He is now credited three or four Dad jokes during a press conference.

Finally after months of powerful men acting as perverts and criminals to young girls a man steps forward to defend his young daughters good name. One step forward after a hundred steps back boys.

Brady is so classy...you know the guy that:

- has kids with two women.
- cheated at sportsball
- supports trump; a guy that had sex with a porn star 4 months after his wife had a baby.

he may be good at sportsball but he is morally bankrupt.

as for sportsball radio, its grown men listening to other grown men talk about grown men playing a game. not exactly Mensans.

I'm so cool and care so little about sports, I call it "sportsball".

- Who cares? Have you only had sex with 1 woman in your life (or are you still waiting for that day?)

- He never cheated at sportsball

- So? Why do you care who he had sex with and when? THAT's what you chose to show your distaste for Trump?

I'm no Pats fan, and certainly no Brady apologist, but trying to smear him personally when you just don't like his job or politics is pretty much the most gauche thing you can do. (To say nothing of the fact that you're criticizing him for liking Trump, when you're taking a page right out of Trump's ad hom playbook)

Actually, I take that back. Taking potshots at 5-year-olds is the shittiest thing you can do. Trying to excuse it because you happen not to like the parent of the 5-year-old being smeared is a pretty close second. Kids are off-limits, even when their parents are public figures.

Have you ever promoted anything but your own pique? If so, you're hiding it well. As someone whose only contribution to any discussion is to attempt to elevate trivial annoyances to the level of moral failings, you are no one to talk about moral bankruptcy.

Who has the worse brain damage: the players or the out of shape morons who discuss them ad nauseum?

Even the Mafia knew enough to leave the kids out of it.

up

Why would anyone listen to that crap in the first place?

up
Voting closed 0

you can hear morons engaging in often sexist, misogynistic, occasionally racist and in all seriousness embarrassing ass licking of brain damaged pituitary cases who play with balls? Every day about the same games?

Let's take an example. The after analysis. When the Pats lose a game, there's always those hushed tones in the locker room as the players give the same monotone remarks about how they have to do better next time and the other team had more drive or the officials were crooked.

Only when they win, there's an air of ebullience that's almost bacchanal like, and the players always say the same thing about a team effort and how great that sour old prick coach is and blah, blah, blah.

Why bother?

...than those who listen to sports talk radio, are those who get their knickers in a knot about others doing so.

I always get a kick out of your responses to my posts. Maybe someday you and the rest of the people who like to give me shit about my opinions can call into the radio show I'm on every Saturday night and give me that shit on the air.

You know, like the show I just did with Back Bay rep Josh Zakim that for some reason none of the people so concerned about the gas pipe or the bike issues in the Back Bay just couldn't be bothered to call and ask questions of a public servant that has a say in these matters, let's just anonymously bitch and fight on a forum about the same things all over again?

think about this....grown men emotionally invested in other grown men playing a game and then listening to other grown men talk about it.

that is way more pathetic.

i do want to thank the good people of boston for not allowing the Cheatriots to build a stadium in boston. sportsball fans would have ruined another great Boston neighborhood. the city did the right thing.

To play Devils Advocate for a second it was a commercially produced tv show that is making him lots of money. It's not like the cameras caught him with his kid or they ran into live feed. The people editing the video included the kid and put it into a mass produced tv program.

up
Voting closed 0

Just what are you advocating for, you devil? That it's OK to demean other people's children when one of their parents is famous? What?

up
Voting closed 0

That when the kid is presented as part of an orchestrated puff piece tv show an a radio personality says something about it that we don't all go burn him at the stake. I make choices with my life and with my family and so do you. Did you even see the context in what he said? It was not a tirade, it was commenting on behavior.

The outrage wheel is getting old.

1) When he first started appearing on the morning show, I remember thinking, "My god, I didn't think they could make that show any worse, but somehow they've managed to do it!"

2) Many of the commenters at WEEI.com shriek about his liberal politics. But it's not his politics that make him an a-hole -- he's just an a-hole.

3) Related to 2, it could be that he's an a-hole because either the producers have encouraged him, or because he thinks that's the way he's supposed to be to get ahead on sports radio. Rob Bradford seems to think it's the latter, in a blog post he wrote (today? -- too lazy to link)

4) It really cheeses me off the way WEEI was fine with him and his unnecessary crap-stirring click-bait until he was dumb enough to attack probably the most significant Patriots-related content they have -- especially after the ridiculous amount of pride and promotion they had just put into the extension thereof. (I just ended a sentence with thereof; sue me.)

5) The bizarre thing is the more of these types WEEI has in their stable, the higher their ratings go.

when you want to take a shot at a celebrity, I'm pleased to see old-timey words like "pissant" and "dotard" working their way back into the general public's vocabulary. It's badly targeted, but a juicy antique snap.

I've seen other online discussions in which adults recall first hearing it as children in the 1970s on "The Waltons", and their elders being horrified at the time that such a vulgar word (the origin of which lies in the fact that formic acid makes anthills smell like urine) made it into a popular, family-oriented entertainment.

Myself, I recall being somewhat surprised that "The Simpsons", right from its first season in 1990, allowed Bart to say "sucks" freely on network TV. Kinda quaint in the era of "shithole countries" and "grab 'em by the pussy."

Try a La Paloma sometime at one of our better local bars, though most are substituting grapefruit juice, simple syrup and seltzer for Squirt.

You invite cameras into your house to take “reality” footage, of which I’m sure you have editorial control, and you don’t like hearing negative comments about your family?

Then, the post EEI suck-up ass kissing is so extreme, that Brady can’t even get a word out without the host agreeing with him.

Great job, all around. I don’t know the host, he may be a tool, but give me a break.

That was my point as well, see above. He created commercial content for public consumption that included his child. It was his choice, his ok, he profits off of it. I did not see the episode. honestly maybe the child was being an awful brat.

All these high and mighty people coming out of the wood work, I bet all of you at one point have said something mean about a child. Maybe the twins from full house or that Urkel kid or anyone on kids tv these days. Honey Boo Boo... is Honey Boo Boo off limits? Why not? She was a child.

I don't have a problem with Brady taking it up with the show to say "hey, that was too far and I don't know if I want to join you guys to chat any longer if that's the way you want to talk about my kids". In fact, when asked yesterday, Brady said it would be wrong to fire the guy over the comment. He's not looking for blood...and neither should any of you.

First, the guy was describing the beginning of the first episode of "Tom vs. Time" and thought it was staged too heavily. His clear intent was to say that Brady was letting his daughter be a brat at the time. His hyperbole of calling her an "annoying little pissant" is his own overstaging of his point. However, he wasn't going after the kid. She wasn't his primary target for his commentary. She was just one aspect of what he thought was overblown in the "Pats porn" aspect of the Brady documentary episode that they were discussing.

I personally disagree. She was yelling through the house while he was on a phone call with, presumably, Gisele. And kids repeatedly saying "Daddy" over and over again to get their parent's attention can be annoying to some, but I found the interaction very natural and not staged and not as annoying as he did.

Talk radio is awash in hyperbole and planting a stake in the ground both more solid than you probably ever cared about yourself AND further out than you actually care about either...then defending it to the death against all the riled up callers/other hosts. It's semi-moronic, but it's the norm for American talk radio. He planted this flag too far in my opinion. Brady called him on it. And the station isn't happy about it. That's all fair. But it's not like the guy was attacking Brady's daughter out-right.

I have a hard time believing most of the knee-jerk criticism both watched the documentary and listened to the radio playback. I have a feeling you're either going off of "man called little girl a pissant" or you're just planting your flag too far and too deep and are now going to defend it to the death...just like the radio host did.

"Letting his daughter be a brat". Um. Okay. Guess the fuck what? FIVE YEAR OLD KIDS ACT LIKE THIS AND FOR VERY GOOD EVOLUTIONARY REASONS. Like, being dependent and fed and kept track of and all that.

Sorry, but what did you want? A good smiting?
