Some parts of this country are better / cooler / more loving and empathetic than others.

Much as I might enjoy the notion of Trump stumbling into the White House lawn's sinkhole, never to be seen again, the prospect of the rabidly homophobic Mike Pence in charge is in many respects worse, as one of Trump's most useful qualities is that he's so inept at working the levers of government, and Pence might be more effective.

Hang in there, my gay friends, and have a great Pride Week. I yet hold out hope that America will survive The Worst Fucking People Ever being in charge for a time.

Everyone loves them Ethnic-looking Lesbians!

I think that's like one of the hottest trending things on Pornhub, isn't it?

up
Voting closed 0

asshole to see that photo and make those observations. That's you, dude. Congrats.

up
Voting closed 1

No, not really.

Equating everything to Trump and Pence might actually be a call for help.

I'm a female, btw, and one who is used to being attacked sexually for my on point, but different than what people want to think observations.

What is a Dude, anyway? An old term for a dandified / gay male. Just what are you trying to attack?

to being a woman. I could be wrong: maybe there are women who see this photo and immediately leap to a haw-haw-hee-hee reference to porn sites. Don't know many such women, myself.

If you think Trump's potential demise, followed by a Pence administration, isn't a deathly threat to gay rights in this country, I'd suggest that you're the one that needs help. Or maybe it's something you just don't give a shit about. That's certainly what your snide comments suggest.

There is no Hee Haw reference, only aside from what you came up with (which brings up more questions about you).

Lesbians and Ethnics have generally been sexualized by this culture and media. Look it up. This site is market driven, and so looks to drive up ad shares via sexy images. Hence the photo of young ethnic lesbians sexing things up.

That I pointed this out might have hurt your feelings, and caused you to react nastily, not to mention stupidly, probably should not be surprising or disappointing. It still is, though.

Nothing in your last comment was coherent, made sense, was based on any conceivable reality. That you decided to attack your image of how you think I am shows more about your pathology than mine perceived by you.

I'd ask you to rest well, but that probably isn't possible.

and wondering how you can possibly defend that as coming from the perspective of a woman who supports gay rights, the kind of person who looks at this photo and says, "Yes, beautiful and awesome."

Let me help: it sounds like the sneering observation of a sexist, homophobic dick. Your new notion that you're criticizing the site for exploitative marketing is risible if you've spent any time here, and thus looks like desperate backpedaling.

It's useful to notice my points that you chose to ignore, like Pence's homophobia. Care to agree with me that he's a huge threat to gay rights? Your silence there is revealing.

Maybe you're not some Trumpian bigot, but that's what you sound like to me. I could be misapprehending your intentions, but I'm having a hard time feeling your secondary assertion that your real reason for acidly mocking this photo is that it's just click-bait. Convince me otherwise, dude.

You'll go after anybody, which unfortunately, makes you look like a battle-axe, which is detrimental to your credibility.

Slim is perhaps the most respected commenter in this forum. I'd have to say it's on you if you find fault with his rhetoric.

I also fancy pornography, but I wouldn't have connected the dots between a photo of clothed women and pornography, because I don't need to. Plenty of naked girls on that there Internet. I don't need to reach with a photo of my clothed female neighbors.

If you bothered to click the link instead of just shooting your mouth off, you'd have seen that other than 2 drag queens and one pic of two androgynous people who are likely male, the rest were all woman subjects.

So, your beef is with Greg Cook, the photographer who didn't specially hunt down shots of bears to assuage your concerns over "Ethnics" and "Lesbians" being all about the cash money Adam rolls in every night.

Oh my goodness. I have indeed seen some terribly sexualized images on this site. The photos of sunsets, purple afternoon skies, pictures of old buildings and scenes from the Boston Public Library Archives (a significant purveyor of porn) are so intensely sexual that I can not keep my eyes off of them.

The 2nd paragraph of your post is as transparent as Windex clean glass in its dishonesty and deceit. Not to mention just how silly it makes you sound.

All those hot naked gobblers strutting their stuff. It's pretty rank.

This site is market driven, and so looks to drive up ad shares via sexy images. Hence the photo of young ethnic lesbians sexing things up.

In fact, I had to choose between that image and one of a drag queen, after Greg graciously let me use one of his photos. If you look at his page (make sure you have some smelling salts handy, it shows lots and lots of people having a good time, which I realize will offend you), you'll notice he had a couple of particularly dramatic photos with men in women's clothing.

I went with the photo of the three women because they looked like they were particularly enjoying themselves (we don't get enough of that these days) and, now sit yourself down here, because in the past, when I've had to choose, I think I've tended to post photos of drag queens, and while I have nothing against them, I decided to do something a bit different, even if I'm probably the only person who would realize that, because I am the only person who sees everything I post.

As for ad revenue, ha! Wait, that's not quite strong enough: HA HA HA HA HA!!! You don't know anything about either how I make money or how this sort of thing works these days, and I really hope you have nothing to do with Internet ad sales.

The only way a photo like that is going to drive up my ad revenue is if it's promoted elsewhere, in my case on Twitter and Facebook. It's not 2008 any more and I don't get a lot of referral traffic from other blogs (you do remember blogs, right?). But it wouldn't really be right for me to try to get people to come to my site for stuff that another person put together, so I didn't promote this page on either Facebook or Twitter (on Twitter, I retweeted a link that Greg himself posted, to his own photos).

Now, maybe if I had a reputation for running photos of SUPER SEXXXY LADY LESBIANS DOING SUPER SEXXXY LADY LESBIAN THINGS (and this photo is not that, it's just three women dancing), I'd get some traffic that way, from repeat visitors in the mood for some SUPER SEXXXY LADY LESBIAN content, but I don't have a reputation for doing that (except in your fevered imagination, that is) and so I don't get traffic from PornHub fans looking for a little diversion, unless perhaps they're really into SUPER SEXXXY BOSTON ZONING BOARD HEARINGS (I mean, you never know).

So, in conclusion, I could say "bite me," but I won't. Instead, I'll just say I just came back from the Dorchester Day parade and had a great time, as always, and took a bunch of photos I suspect will annoy you, because they show other people spending their time having a good time.

A picture of "ethnic lesbians dancing" turned you on.

Now I don't see anything wrong with that, but it looks like you do. But that's your problem, not Adam's.

Deal with it - and leave those seeking to portray a community dancing event as a community dancing event out of your puerile imaginings.

I can't even tell their orientation from these pics. All I see is some humans having a hell of a good time. Anything else is in the very clouded mind of of the less informed. Not you, ma'am.

Same caption as every other photo in the set. It was the name of the event, not a strict descriptor of its attendees.

Do you really believe this event was held for gay people only?

Do you really believe this event was held for gay people only?

I really believe that the average straight person assumes they're looking at LGBTQ people when seeing photos of such events.

up
Voting closed 0

I consider myself to be an average straight person, and I would definitely not assume every single person there is LGBTQ. Just like the pride parade, there are plenty of straight people in attendance.

I concur with MC Slim JB; "be" is a special kind of poster, and deserves recognition. "my on point, but different than what people want to think observations", for example, is worthy of a plaque in the Oblivious Asshole Hall of Fame.

Sorry you feel so triggered by a photo of people enjoying themselves.

Why are the Trump supporters that show up here the intellectual equivalent of Gunther Toody?

up

Gosh it's amazing and heartwarming, the sincere concern for gay rights among Trump supporters. Trump and his followers have saved LOTS of gays from being thrown off buildings by nasty bad Muslims! We're so much better off since Trump won!

makes it dead-simple to spot gullible, mouth-breathing idiots, the Alex Jones watchers among us without two neurons to rub together. They're right up there in the "Amazing you've made it this far without accidentally killing yourself munching urinal cakes, hope you haven't successfully reproduced" category with the Flat Earthers.

Happy that I contributed to some sort of discussion, anyway.

Blow it out your Ass, Adam. I will still call it a sexist image.

homophobia. The silence is deafening. I'll speculate that you don't really give a damn about gay rights.

You're what's known as a right-wing concern troll, a fake ally, like Mr. Brain-Dead Sharia Law Schmuck. Except you showed your cards with your first post, dude. Nobody's buying your "Adam's just exploiting a picture of gay women for web hits" after-the-fact excuse. Too little, too late.

It would be comical if it weren't tragic.

I'll probably be going to the Pride parade on Saturday. What could I take a picture of that would most annoy you?

up
Voting closed 0

Not a sexist image, but could be called slightly sexually-charged.

A closeup of people of whatever sexual orientation with one grinding their rear into the crotch of the person behind them, who's grinding their rear into the crotch of the person behind them...

...I suspect other, more reserved photos could easily have been found. After all, we expect this website to aspire to the greatest media standards of 75 years ago, where the tabloids could have front-page giant photos of vacant-eyed, blood-spattered, chalk-outlined, mob-stoolie corpses --- as long as we weren't exposed to anything untoward like any hint of sexuality.

deleted. Is that some kind of glitch, Adam? Not sure how that happened. I know I didn't copy/paste this post into the second one, which included only a couple of small edits.

less charged notion of that kind of contact. It might be what a conga line was to their grandparents: it's kinda sexy, that sort of touch in a dance context, but not necessarily an invitation to anything more. I've come to appreciate it, while admitting that I felt a twinge of prudish embarrassment the first time I got grinded on by a younger date on a nightclub dance floor. One learns, and adjusts.

I think there's a kind of power and forthrightness in younger people's franker acknowledgement of the joy of being attractive while also asserting and respecting boundaries. To me, that's a clear improvement on the fumbling, covert, unbalanced sexual politics of my own youth. I also get how it can seem strange, confusing and challenging to an older generation and its norms.

Anyway, grateful to live in a time when gay marriage became a legal right, and to see a younger generation that seems so much more intelligent about and accepting of the range of human sexuality. I'll be glad when the homophobic dinosaurs among us finally die off. Still worried about Mike Pence, though. If Trump falls, which I think looks increasingly inevitable, you know that smarmy evangelical bigot will still try to roll back the clock.

You were most definitely drunk/stoned when you first engaged me at my initial post.

Your sobering up, I'd like for you to think about the drunk gay chicks being photographed.

What the fuck are you even talking about? Are we looking at the same picture? Maybe you left a Pornhub tab open on your browser and got confused? You're the only one to bring up Pornhub, after all.
