Everything hunky-dory again at concrete-dropping Alewife garage

MassDOT reports today that the engineers have given the Alewife garage a clean bill of health and that it will resume regular operations tomorrow - and keep doing so at least until a contractor comes in next month for a $5.7-million repair job.

The garage had been having partial and full closures for repairs since Aug. 8, when some concrete fell on a car.

Engineers have confirmed that the duct tape is holding. There is no cause for concern at this time.

My suggestion would be to park on the top/roof level from now on just to be safe.

It's been having "full and partial closures" for a long long long time before that.
