Getting her ducks in a row

Wood ducks in a row at Jamaica Pond

A mama wood duck watched over her brood as they turned in for the night on a log at the north end of Jamaica Pond late this afternoon.

It's been a good year for her - she still has seven of her original ten hatchlings, and they're now almost as big as she is.

Although the credit really goes to mom there for getting all those kids up on that log.
