You're almost as bad as that horrible Alex Rodriguez, that drug taking loser. I had my people watch ESPN last night and they showed Daddy for a few minutes, going on and on about what a gentleman he is, how smart he is, and there was Linda Pizzutto Henry sitting right next to him, perfect red lipstick, and then when someone let it be known there was a National Audience....LPH gave the best smile ever. Did steroid user ever mention LPH once? Don't they know who the most important person in Boston is? Don't they know who David Bernstein is??? Don't they know who the managing editor of the Globe is??? Without LPH, Daddy would be nothing.

At least ESPN took the time to show our fabulous white ball girls, even taking special time to show that darling blond down the right field line giving the ball to the sweet young white girl in our crowd which was so representative of our City. Brookline.

He did Yeoman's work. A real gritty star that did great work in the community. Did everything the team asked.

Sacrificed his start to take the pounding and save the bullpen in game 3.

Then when that third knuckler got past Variek in extra innings in game 5, Wake held up his hand as if to say, "Steady," and something about it made me think, "Holy cow, if Wake's not freaked out then they're going to win this game."

I was at the Boston baseball writers dinner with my father after the 2003 season. Wakefield was a guest, and not only did he get an ovation when introduced, but by far the biggest one of the night.

This post is completely unhinged. I can't tell if it's satire or what.

is ALWAYS insanely sweaty.

Britton's fastball control was uncharacteristically off despite the velocity being there, and he was going to the rosin bag a lot. There were also a ton of pickoff "attempts" at first by both teams late in the game, and none of the relievers seemed to want to throw a pitch after a certain point. I wonder how much of an impact the humidity had on pitchers–the science part of baseball is always interesting.

Also can't believe how many guys were out there in sleeves, or how many people in hoodies I saw at that game.
