Orange Line trains ran fine tonight - it was escalators and elevators on the southern end of the line that died

The MBTA reports the elevators and escalators at Orange Line stations from Jackson Square to Forest Hills stopped running tonight. Losing power will do that, but the good news is the power's back on.

Did the stations have lights? What about other critical systems like fire alarms and ventilation?

I was in Stony Brook and Forest Hills stations during the power outage and the emergency lights were all on. It was definitely darker than normal, especially on the platform at Forest Hills, but you could see to get around. The fare gates were also all open and off.

These are pretty open stations so ventilation is mostly what happens when a train goes through.

People at Stony Brook stopped to help a woman with a stroller get up the stairs.
