South Boston meth dealer gets 2 1/2 years in prison, loses E Street condo

A federal judge this week sentenced Peter "Scooby" Molloy to 32 months in prison for trafficking methamphetamine in the Boston area - and his Arizona supplier to ten years behind bars.

The US Attorney's office reports Molloy, 39, and Adrian Carlos Maldonado, 38, of Phoenix, had earlier pleaded guilty to moving the drug to Boston and then selling it here.

According to the US Attorney's office, Molloy started selling meth from a variety of sources in 2014, then struck a deal with Maldonado a year later.

In June 2018, Molloy and Maldonado each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Molloy also pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

In addition to the prison time, Molloy agreed to give up his $520,000 condo on E Street at West 6th Street, his Hyunday Veloster, more than $173,000 in cash, a $10,000 cashier's check and a $1,000 money order.

Molloy will also have to pay a $25,000 fine and will spend three years on probation after his release, the US Attorney's office reports.

When asked by the judge if they had anything to say, Scooby simply muttered "rut roh." Old Man Maldonado lamented that he'd have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids.

Even the nicknames in SoBo suck. The toughest part of Southie today is finding a parking space or a condo for less than a million.

Meth crossed over into homeless illicit drug users this past spring. It is an ugly drug, users are up for 3 days, paranoid, will ask police why they are being followed. There is no treatment for it. It's good to know this dealer was caught. A little goes a long way,but it seems like sold a condo in Southie's worth.

It is an ugly drug, and sleep deprivation and paranoia are among the symptoms of abuse, but you're wrong to say there is no treatment. Rehab, individual and group therapy, twelve step programs, all can be highly successful in helping a motivated user stop using. The biggest challenge is making sure treatment is available and accessible for everyone who needs it.

Think about what Meth does, then think about what opiates do. Now put the two together.

Know what a speedball is? Pretty much that.

I know that they were unfair and unjust because Carlos was only just a very good person and I mean that he only took care of his family and even a lot of other people .I think he was falsely accused and tricked him into having anything to do with these statements it was unlawful and unjust to or for him to be prosecuted th way they did by God I stand by my word when I say it was wrong.jesus I am gonna miss him while he's in there I hope he knows we all Stand by him and will see to it that something be done with this.please at least refuse his sentence I mean there was no violent crimes done to anyone I mean come on be a real person and don't get carried away with it by getting stuck with paper work that disattaches you from real life and real people and what really they go through to take care of there family. It's not like anyone was hurting so something else should come of this .I beg of you please reconsider it's the least you can do.if there's anything to a right and a wrong please make this right because he has only those to be cared for out there and no enemies and crap like that.hes one of the kindest people I'll ever know and that's the truth.honest now that's a word that doesnt get disattache from real life.
