and was at the game.

While the (admittedly much deserved) "Yankees Suck" chants were pretty solid tonight, all in all the rivalry has definitely been pretty weak the last 5 years or so. I say this living on one side, and having grown up and still going home to the other side.

On tv last nite they said the 2 teams are 19-19 over the past 2 years.

Admitedly, without the personalities like Jeter, Posada, Pedroia and Papi in the lineup, it was kinda shirts v. Shirts last nite.

Don't get cocky sox fans ( myself included), reversion to the mean is a poweful force.

But it is a fun start (allows self a small sox fan smile).

we could go 161-1.

We're 9-1. If you extrapolate, we would go 146-16 not 161-1.

Come on, let's not be silly.

Uh ... Game 6, anyone?

The key point is that the only people who hated the Yankees as much as Sox fans were Mets fans.

I thought that hatred of the Yankees is still a common bond between Mets and Sox fans. I mean, since 2004 all that happened in 1986 is water under the bridge.

Would that be water under the Whitestone or water under the Tobin?

hate the Yankees as much as anyone in Boston, but there are still two things you shouldn't mention to a real Red Sox fan - Game 6, and Bucky F. Dent.

Which, since I long ago converted to Soxism, I don't.
