West Roxbury man ordered held without bail after parking lot/crash/shotgun incident

A man charged with aiming his SUV at a Boston police officer in a crowded Roche Bros. parking lot then speeding off only to crash into several cars with a loaded gun on his front seat before being nabbed in Roslindale will spend at least the next week behind bars, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

A judge in West Roxbury Municipal Court ordered Michael Robicheau, 57, held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Nov. 29.

If the judge at that hearing finds him to be a potentially imminent threat to the public, he could be ordered held without bail for another 60 days on the charges of refusing to stop for a police officer, driving to endanger, operating with a revoked license, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (car), leaving the scene of a property-damage crash, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Police say Robhicheau was parked in front of the Roche Bros. entrance, blocking it. When a detail cop asked store workers to page the owner of the vehicle to move it, police say, Robicheau angrily got in, drove right at the officer, then spend into Roslindale, where police say he hit several cars before being forced to stop by a utility pole on Bexley Road near Healey Field.

Nobody was injured during the alleged rampage, police say.
