Chelsea man was walking Cambridge street with loaded gun and drugs, police say

Cambridge Police report officers yesterday arrested a Chelsea man they said was carrying a loaded gun, marijuana and Xanax on Washington Street near Pine Street.

Police say officers stopped to talk to Tevin Brown, 27, and another man on Washington Street near Pine Street yesterday, as part of as an investigation into gunfire at Columbia Street and Bishop Allen Drive on Tuesday.

After briefly speaking to Brown and another male about their investigation, Officers noticed what appeared to be a possible revolver inside a pocket on the waistband area of Brown. When Officers asked what was inside the pocket, Brown did not answer them, turned around and ran down Washington Street towards Pine Street. Officers were able to quickly locate and safely take him into custody. On his possession, Officers were able to locate and take into possession a loaded revolver with five rounds of ammunition, as well as a digital scale, packaged bags of marijuana, Xanax, and more than $650 of cash.

Brown was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of Class C and D drugs with intent to distribute, police say.
