Mystery camera in Jamaica Plain

It's been there for well over a year, and is actually pointed at the 7 Burroughs Street construction project (not the municipal parking lot). My guess is that the contractors had some equipment stolen and installed the camera to keep an eye on things.

Sometimes companies like the time lapse images of a building going up.

Either or. Or even, both.

It looks more like the gun fire detectors set up by the police department to help them locate where gun fire has happened.

No, those things are huge! This just looks like a camera.

Are you kidding? Have you ever seen one?

Maybe not, a lot of them are owned by a utility, constructed by Boston Edison or NET and now maintained by Eversource or Verizon.

Where's it getting power from?

That's an Arlo brand camera, and it has the optional solar panel off to the side to keep it charged.

They are fully wireless.

If it's the Arlo Go, it even sends the video via LTE.
