Crash sends car into storefront at Northampton and Washington

Car crash at Northampton and Washington streets

A two-car crash this morning at Washington and Northampton streets in Roxbury sent one of the cars into the front of Shamso, a new hair salon that is the first in New England for women who wear a hijab.

This is an irresponsible act for drivers to commit, overall.

Given that some people jaywalk and cyclists run red lights, it's only fair that drivers crash into buildings every now and again. Given all the buildings in Boston, it's surprising it doesn't happen more often. /S

Drivers kill people at a rate of 100 per day in the US.

To add to the mayhem, the location on Google Maps shows a guy riding an electronic wheelchair right in the middle of the street, bravely testing the waters of danger.

Ever try to navigate this city in a power chair? Lots of reasons why these folks use the street.

Its a great argument for more bike lanes, actually - people in chairs use those quite easily and I'm not going to grudge them the space.

This is the first salon that is exclusively for hijabi women, but there are older ones that have had accommodations such as private rooms for women who don't show their hair:

That's right fuck considering any injuries lets bicker about who's worst, drivers, cyclist, or pedestrians. Whether you want to believe it or not every single one from drivers to walkers are just as bad all around.

I've never seen a pedestrian crash into a brick wall hard enough to cause serious property damage but maybe I'm just not paying attention?

But I've seen them step into traffic without looking up
