The Real Reporter reports (via Caught in Southie) that the Amrheins building on West Broadway is under agreement for sale to local developer Ryan Sillery.
News of its eventual demise is not a sudden shocker, but it comes on the heels of news of the impending shutdown of Durgin-Park, another 19th-century restaurant, and what looks to be the non-return of Jacob Wirth following a fire in the building it's in.
The same people own Mull’s, I heard it was being sold as well. Anyone know anything?

You will notice that it is one sentence. It forms the entire paragraph. In fact, in an article of 10 paragraphs he manages 16 sentences. I'm sure we'd have all preferred that you just link Maureen.

At city hall they speak in sentagraphs. You can't stenographically reproduce sentagraphs without breaking the machinery.
Nostalgia for those places is really just nostalgia for a time when the food and atmosphere at them was what was considered a good night out, not what is considered good today. Those places never changed, which sometimes works out, but usually doesn’t as times change.
There’s nothing wrong with a basic fish & chips meal there. I consider that a great meal.
Unlike some of these other places, Amrheins has really good food. My only bad expeeience was when they turned the volume up to "earsplit" level for the Pats game during brunch.
I was there on New Year’s Day and had a great meal. There was a good crowd in the restaurant and bar.

There are also other parking lots in the area.

Used them more than a few times in the time that my husband worked in South Boston.
For starters, the Channel Center Garage is open to the public. It is three blocks from Amrhein's. We use that one a lot - I pack a folding bike to get to my office, or get in a nice 35 minute walk. Sometimes we even walk that three blocks. That one only very rarely fills and only when flooding is expected in the lots.
There are eight lots and garages within three blocks of Amrhein's and another 3-4 further down West Broadway
Which is why I suspect that Anon can't be bothered to walk or look at a map. There remains street spots for chair users and people with mobility limitations.
Honey, I'm the real deal - you were deprived of basic cartographic navigation skills in your educational history. Not your fault, really - I live with someone who is smart but had to be taught to use a map to plan a basic route because no body else ever showed him that skill. If you are going to "expose" someone as a "phony" you better damn well know what you are talking about.

I don't know that we should assume the restaurant is toast. That building is lovely, particularly along A Street, so hopefully they preserve that and build up the parking lot instead.
