Ban needed in JP? Surely somebody knows the secret behind all the deoodorant containers strewn around the neighborhood

A perplexed Jamaica Plainer reports spotting some 15 deodorant sticks scattered around the streets on a walk this evening. Doesn't seem so suave, but given that the weather has gone from arrid to humid to a major degree, maybe some men in the neighborhood have just been trying to stay dri. But so far, mum's the word.

Meanwhile, another Jamaica Plain resident reports that guy who screams at people wearing masks was doing his thing in the area near Angell Memorial this afternoon.

I'm still trying to figure out why I see discarded dental floss picks all over the streets pretty much everywhere, all the time. Exactly what is going on with these things? I find it hard to believe that there are that many people walking down the street flossing their teeth and then just dropping them on the sidewalk. Besides, I never see people actually flossing, just the discarded picks. I keep thinking there must be some drug related use for them.

I've seen it a bunch on my commute - someone driving along picking their teeth with one hand, then they flip it out the window when they're done. Not sure who started this gross, littering idea, but I've seen it from at least a dozen cars in the last couple years.

Considering they're plastic, they last for months, or more, before they become unrecognizable. So if even one person per day were to use one walking down a particular street, chances are you'd never be in the same place at the same time to witness the act, but after a month there are 30 on the street.

There are nip bottles and lottery tickets all over too, but I've rarely if ever seen the actual act of using them or discarding them directly on the street.

have discovered that they may serve as cheese cutters. They sneak into CVS and steal them.

...then if it's still an issue we'll invoke our right (to) guard the streets...

Stop & Shop on Centre St is always nearly sold out of deodorant.

I mean, I’m not the guy from Blue’s Clues, but it seems there may be something more going on here... this whole situation stinks.

That stop and shop is just a terrible grocery store. The worst I’ve ever been to. I don’t think think it’s a conspiracy.

Bonus points if it involves a baby selling ring or basement in a building that doesn't have one.

Google led me to this article https://www.rehabs.com/pro-talk/secret-stash-where-do-teens-hide-their-d... which claims deodorant sticks, with contents removed presumably, are a common place for teens (and maybe others) to hide their drugs. Who knew?

Diamond smuggling in deodorant sticks was a Robert Mitchum film.

Our mental healthcare system and laws in this country are disgraceful. There are many unstable and potentially dangerous people on the streets.

There’s the guy who you see around back bay who always has an acoustic guitar strapped to his back.
Well lately he’s been yelling at people for wearing masks. He’s kinda rebranding I think
