Won’t last two months in prison

Actually that's a myth, they do quite nicely in jail.

He won't *spend* two minutes in jail.

He'll pay a fine, do some community service that probably involves children, which he'll see as expanding his dating pool, and keep his enourmous pension.

But I'm not.

People don't generally become pedophiles late in life so it's likely this monster was also active as a police officer. I wonder if the thin blue line covers child rape? Who was this guy's Cardinal Law?

So he _is_ Cardinal Law.

Do you have a source for this, or is it just your opinion?

No, they have "qualified immunity" to cover stuff like that.

There would have been a bigger chance of police killing this guy and covering that up than covering up for a child rapist.

I'm not going to get into a semantic debate about what "covering up" would look like. I do think that in cases of child sexual abuse, there are often many people who had enough information and could have put two and two together, but...didn't. I don't think cops are an exception to this. It isn't the same thing as a smoking-gun "knew", but I do think in cases of child sexual abuse, there are most likely people close to the perpetrator who could have done better and didn't.

I think the Penn State situation is a good example of that.

However given his position of power, he was in a better position to cover marginally suspicious behavior than most. Like the Golden State Killer (former cop), etc...

It will be interesting to see if anyone comes forward as a previous victim who was afraid of him when he not in jail / or an active cop.

You have men who are simply perverts to women in general, and the age of those women may or may not be an issue. Those types of men are usually pretty clear about who they are and what kind of lifestyle they lead (others know about affairs, experiences, etc)

The man who seeks out prepubescent boys and girls though......? Those men are in a different category all together.

Then you simply have the male cop who abuses his power and forces himself sexually on women or men of all ages, mostly women.

If he pleads guilty to the lesser charge of indecent assault and battery he will probably get probation and wont have to register as a sex offender. The DA will do this to spare the victim from testifying.

A person who rose to the head of an organization dedicated to preventing people who lack self control in violent ways from seeing consequences is accused of a violent lack of self control.

But I'm sure it wouldn't have happened if the children had just followed his orders.
