Man arrested in the Bronx for murder on American Legion Highway in Roslindale last fall

Boston Police report arresting Richard Lugo, 36, on charges he shot two men, one fatally, on American Legion Highway near Canterbury Street on Oct. 31.

Police say BPD officers and US Marshals arrested Lugo earlier today after tracking him down to the Bronx as part of a six-month investigation into the shootings, which left Pasqual Casiano, 41, of Jamaica Plain, dead.

Police say Lugo will be held in the Bronx until after he is arraigned there as a fugitive from justice and then returned to Boston to face charges of murder, assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and larceny of a motor vehicle.

The day after Casiano's murder, another man was shot to death a couple blocks away. That murder remains unsolved.

Innocent, etc.

I wonder why he shot them? I assume drugs but it would be interesting to know.

I am so glad law enforcement jurisdictional shenanigans, for the most part are over, and there appears to be continued collective, and mutual multi- jurisdictional collaborative efforts to apprehend criminals.

And I guess, if it wasn't for the public and witnesses; this arrest may not have came true. Great job by all involved.

To the victims surviving family members and friends, I hope the arrest of this criminal allows you to continue to manage through this horrific moments in your life. May GOD continue be with you.

GREAT JOB LAW ENFORCEMENT.
