A roving UHub photographer came across this scene outside the post office on Centre Street in West Roxbury today, wonders if maybe West Roxbury hasn't quite got the hang of this Bluebike thing yet.

It appears that a demand for bicycle parking facilities is not being met by the current streetscape. This poor substitute was better than anything else nearby.
If you want more people to ride bicycles for short trips, you’d be more active in developing street furniture that provides facilities like racks that allow secure parking for cyclists’ vehicles.

I don't think the Bluebike station would lock a normal bike in. This bike doesn't appear to even be locked at all, so maybe someone stole it/took it for a joy ride and just left it there.
