Returning home with Ol' Hoss and some planks

Old Boston street scene with horse and wooden planks

The folks at the Boston City Archives wonder if you can place this scene. See it larger.

- The boy on the far left is standing beside a railroad station. It features a very-rare-by-this-time grade crossing.

- The railroad line is still there and carries passengers; but this station has been demolished for decades.

- This photo was taken circa 1903-1910

- The photographer afterward could have walked a few blocks and caught a streetcar on the Mattapan-North Station Line {BERy Route #54 via Blue Hill Avenue + Southie}.

Good luck!

On the right that street looks wide enough to be Columbia Road but wasn't Franklin Park built by then? I always thought that rest station at Blue Hill Avenue and Franklin Park was built in the 1930s as part of the WPA program.
