Somebody's setting fires in Back Bay alleys again

Somebody was keeping Boston firefighters and police busy tonight by setting dumpsters and trash piles on fire in several Back Bay alleys tonight.

They're the latest in a string of such fires in recent months and residents are getting tired of it. As one resident reports:

2 more last 72 hours. One behind the church of the Covenant Newbury and Clarendon and one behind 7/11 on Boylston Street. There was a fire behind Sea bags on Newbury on Christmas Day and someone burned Christmas Trees in the back bay in January.

It's been going on for months - I've notified our neighborhood association. Sunday night and the dumpsters are full...amidst a curfew...

And will be talking to our community services officer tomorrow. One yesterday and one a month ago nearby. One just a smoker, but the other was pretty bad with flames 15-20 feet up.

Please make sure that 352 Marlborough is also on the list. On the night of February 12, someone set fire to a porta-potty. When I reported it then, they said the police thought it was homeless people trying to keep warm on a very cold night. Strange, smelly way to seek warmth.

The owner of that property... if you're a neighbor you will understand what
I'm talking about. How do you know about the porta potty fire?

But you do realize that a luxury developer bought it from those owners? Sometime last year, I think. He may not have a sterling reputation but at least the previous owners are out of the picture.

They still own 362, however. Fortunately, it seems to be taking a very long time to force a garage into that poor, ruined house.

As for how I know, I saw the melted remains.
