Water-main break disrupts key part of West Roxbury life

A water-main break outside Roche Bros. in West Roxbury this morning left the supermarket without fresh water.

The store stayed open, but it had to shut its deli, seafood, bakery and meat departments.

The water-main break also forced people jonesing for some Starbucks to trek up to Putterham, since few know about or wanted to try the Starbucks hidden in the Star Market on Spring Street.

BWSC workers were still on scene around 6 p.m., working on repairs.
