This is like equivalent of the guy who springs a breakaway at like mile 20 of a TdF leg and gets reeled in by the peleton by mile 60. Way too early.

Speaking of too early, I will be very interested to see if Wu or Campbell even get to the mayoral finale as well as while they have laid a lot of groundwork, someone is going to end up with backing of City Hall and it's neither of them. Throw in another strong candidate or Kim Janey deciding she does want to keep the job and that's a wrap. I am glad to have a lot of choices though.

He won't get the backing of Democrats. Rumors are swirling that the Dems want Maura Healey to run and quite honestly, she could absolutely beat Charlie Baker if he even decides to run for re-election. If Charlie doesn't run, Maura will win in a landslide as the Republicans will waste their money battling each other for the nomination. Interesting times are ahead for Boston and the State.

Jay Gonzalez lite here better figure out how to get the Baker voters to take him more seriously or he’ll end up like Jay.

No one's ever heard of him, though. The Dems need a star to beat Baker, assuming he runs again and can win the GOP nomination, which isn't as automatic as you'd assume for a 2 term incumbent, given the hate he receives from the Trump base of the GOP. Right now AG Maura Healey looks like the favorite to win the Dem nomination if she runs, and at least she'd have a much better chance of winning than that last unmemorable Dem who got his butt kicked by Baker, or this guy, probably.
