Former Bartlett Yard in Roxbury to get combo grocery and cafe

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to grant a food-serving license to a group that plans to open a grocery with a 24-seat cafe and community room at 2565 Washington St., a one-time MBTA bus yard now being transformed into a residential area.

The board rarely rejects requests for food-serving licenses that do not involve alcohol and which faced no community opposition at its hearing.

Proposed manager Yusuf Yassin told the board the Good Food Markets will be a "full-service" grocery store, along with the cafe, open between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Lets bring back Neponset... I dont see how it could be any better of a spot. Near a highway, not near any residential, yet close to the city.

(yeah yeah cars and its now a park but still..)

All I care about is that it doesn't end up being vacant commercial space like Forest Hills in JP and orhers along the stretch all the way to the Nubian station. Bring in a cash cow that will last for the market.

Is something, but it is, very slowly, filling in. Well, there's a gym and a bank now, anyway. Hmm, I can't remember if the bakery that was supposed to go in there but basically couldn't because of Covid-19 has opened yet.
