The Head of the Charles isn't the end of river racing in the fall - it's followed by the Foot of the Charles

The Huntington News reports on the smaller set of races, which, unlike the bigger, better known regatta, draws competitors just from the Boston area (and Rhode Island).

I raced in both the Foot and the Head. Part of what made the Foot fun was that the varsity crews would hang out on the bridges to cheer on the frosh. They lowered treats down on a rope for the boats returning after the races.

My jersey from the Foot of the Charles had an upside-down T (for Tech) and my Head of the Charles jersey had a right-side up T.
