Malden man now facing a felony charge for his role in failed Capitol putsch

Federal prosecutors in Washington today added a new charge against Capitol stroller Mark Sahady of Malden, which carries a potential prison sentence of a year and which would mean, if he's convicted, he could never legally own a gun.

The FBI arrested Sahady, along with fellow local "straight pride" organizer Sue Ianni of Natick on Jan. 19 on misdemeanor charges of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. In a felony "information" filing today, the US Attorney's office in Washington added a third, felony, charge, of disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds against Sahady:

On or about January 6, 2021, in the District of Columbia, MARK SAHADY, did knowingly, and with intent to impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, engage in disorderly and disruptive conduct in and within such proximity to, a restricted building and grounds, that is, any posted, cordoned-off, and otherwise restricted area within the United States Capitol and its grounds, where the Vice President and Vice President-elect were temporarily visiting, when and so that such conduct did in fact impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions.

Ianni remains charged with just the two initial misdemeanor counts. Sahady and Ianni organized buses of fellow election deniers from Massachusetts and New Hampshire to Washington, but they are the only ones charged, at least so far, with having made their way into the Capitol building.

Innocent, etc.

Is about to become just a little bit nicer for (at least) a couple decades.

Not a couple of decades, more like a year.

I suspect the comment was referring to the gun part.

....i'm guessing nothing will change. i'm far more worried about someone like this behind the wheel of a car or truck (i'm willing to bet it's a truck) than him pulling a gun.
