We are condemned to watch this play out. It was clear โ€“ from case data, from hospitalizations, and from wastewater Covid analysis โ€“ that we were headed for a monster surge. It was clear in mid-October. Many, many smart people warned of it. Our state & city leadership failed to act until it was far too late.

Perhaps they felt they would not have public buy-in, because the calamity was not evident. To that I respond, Such is the burden of leadership.

Make no mistake, my friends. Our leaders at the Federal and State and City level FAILED. They had the information & the tools they needed to prevent this third wave โ€“ and they did nothing.

Indoor dining is STILL OPEN.

Charlie Baker has hundreds and hundreds of unnecessary deaths on his hands. We had best remember his utter cowardice in the face of this test. He deserves a lifetime of shame and banishment.
