Navy jets roar over Boston Harbor

Blue Angels over Boston Harbor

Jim Gavaghan was able to capture the Navy's Blue Angels flying over the USS Constitution and Boston Harbor this morning from his third-floor porch in South Boston.

Matt Conti of the North End also watched the jets:

I had never seen planes fly over Boston Harbor before.

Such an outstanding display.

Sorry, I was quoting someone from the 1911 Harvard Air Meet over Squantum.

Was the B-2 Stealth Bomber over Fenway Park. I saw it from 1 Lincoln Street and swore it was the Batplane. :)

I saw one in last year's flyover abd the photo I got had it behind some thin clouds so it did look like a giant bat!

Any idea what brought the Blue Angels here today?

Why go all the way to Kabul to bomb them we're already bringing Kabul children here, and can bomb them locally?

If it isn't fresh, it isn't legal.

This is a fantastic comment. Sure, too soon, but still excellent.

Sorry to disappoint, but the Blue Angels aircraft have had all their weapons systems removed.

I was just kidding. The US military does most of their civilian murders with drone strikes these days, because they're easier for the American public to ignore.

Went to one in Portsmouth as a teenager.

It was more a primer on the up and coming hair metal bands that I had not heard of (and really didn't care about) based upon the t-shirts worn by the rednecks that day.

I'd assume most of these guys are now in their "These Colors Don't Run", that Spartan thing, and "Three Percent" tough guy t-shirt phase about now.

Service pay based on rank, like every other officer. Their phenomenal world-class skill as pilots touring the country earn them nothing more than regular flight time or ground support would.

Consider that the next time you see a cop staring into a construction hole. Or a bench warmer at Fenway making $16,000,000 a season.
