See it larger.
Mary Ellen reports she was standing under a tree by the Charles River in West Roxbury this morning when an eagle landed in the tree, basically right on top of her - maybe the one she saw from a bit further away yesterday.
All the wild animals in that area must know Mary Ellen by now.
It's awesome seeing these pics. This one in particular is really cool.
Amazing! Such a treat to be so close to a bald eagle!
Or maybe Majestic!
Mary Ellen has a new friend. Maybe the eagle wants another pic posted.
Looks like it just completed a successful fishing trip.
Fantastic! It shows just how large these birds really are. What wings!
Wing span is longer than a coyote's body.
Not to eat the coyote - it was about scavenging rights.
That dog got lost very quickly.
Mary Ellen sees this incoming, thinks: "Excellent! Light is at a decent angle, I have my phone in hand. Shame it's not the real camera with time for manual aperture/exposure adjustment, but automatic mode will be okay..."
I see this incoming, think: "This might not have been the best day for me to wear my stoat hat."
It's got a fish! Look by the talons and you can see at least a couple of fins.
Great shot! Love it
