Rte. 9 becomes highway to hell at horrible intersection
By adamg on Sun, 03/28/2021 - 1:20pm

Debbie Carmichael passed by the remains of the carnage at South Huntington and Huntington avenues, where somebody seems to have plowed into the Subway there sometime overnight. WCVB reports the crash was the end of a chase in which some guy allegedly was trying to flee Brookline Police.

Car chase
State police or Brookline started it and Boston had the cleanup....
The name is Subway, not
The name is Subway, not Highway.
You are correct
Yes, I know, but the highway sign is the thing I was referring to.
Innovation
I always thought Subway should have a drive thru. Maybe they can put in a order-ahead pickup window in the rebuild. Good thing they didn't hit the pizza place next door. Drive thru pizza would never work...
I don't get the use of the word "carnage" here
...was this anything more than property damage? Or does the author believe that deli meat, in and of itself, is murder?
Oh, sorry, was a poor attempt at a pun
Maybe I should have written "car-nage."
No
Don't play down to the lower tier. Most of us got the joke.
.
Weird that there's no yellow tape or cones around.
Perhaps somebody crashed into the building and then took off?
Whoopsie!
I hope their cell phone is ok
I hope their cell phone is ok
No stop signs, speed limits
Oh, wait, yes there are.
I don't think either of those
I don't think either of those signs are at that intersection.
If you're a sandwich place...
you've gotta understand, cars are gonna hit you.
I seem to recall
A particular poster on this here blog who was adamant, arrogantly so, that cars crashing into buildings, such as like this particular instance, was an extremely uncommon occurrence. Certainly does feel like I'm running out of hands to count how many times it's happened since they posted that, though.
