Woman steals Boston Fire pickup from Moon Island, drives it to Coventry, RI

And at least part of the way, she drove it with one tire blown out and just the rim left.

I'm crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Seem to be attractive to thieves. As some will recall it was a Boston fireman truck that was in use when someone severely injured on the edge of the Public Garden.

Glad to see the guard at the shack at the Squantum end of the island not doing their job checking who goes across it.

More petty fodder for the Squantum people to oppose a new Long Island Bridge.

It's not a short walk, but if you snuck past the guard shack on foot, I don't think any guard would bat an eye about a marked BFD vehicle leaving the island.

Then it isn't a guard? It's a dolt?

First off, she didn't cross in front of the gate house from the road. Buddy that Police officer almost died today. She gained access through the Squantum beach side. The police department that man's the gate house does not have a cruiser stationed there. So, I wouldn't take my personal vehicle to do any patrol of the causeway. Furthermore, Quincy PD was notified of a Quincy resident partaking in vandalism on the officer’s vehicle and the gate house. When Quincy PD arrived on scene seeing that she was now in their jurisdiction Officers were well aware of the individual and stated " she was crazy/EDP and refused to arrest her. What they did do was allow her to walk home when they made contact with her and met her at her house to get her Identification. (TALK ABOUT PRIVILEGED!!) AN hour later she made her way back to the island through the beach side as stated and stole as you know a city BFD vehicle. Which by the way is not her first time committing such crimes This would have simply been avoided if Quincy PD section or placed the woman under arrest. She was also trespassed five years earlier. I'm a resident of Quincy and walk both of my dogs often near the gate house. I have much respect for those officers and should too !
