25 to 30 for man who raped, beat woman in Codman Square restroom

A Suffolk Superior Court judge today sentenced Shawn McClinton to 25 to 30 years in state prison following his conviction for beating a woman in the women's room of the Codman Square McDonald's and then dragging her to the men's room, where he raped, strangled and choked her in 2018, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

McClinton, who served as his own attorney, still faces trial for another rape he allegedly committed in 2020, just five days after he was released on bail for the Codman Square rape.

McClinton had previously served time for a 2007 rape in Bristol County.
