Another federal judge tells another Moor involved in that 128 standoff he'll have to fight his criminal case in state court first

For the second time in a week, a federal judge has told one of the Moorish sovereign citizens involved in an armed standoff on Rte. 128 last year that he can't simply transfer his case from state to federal court even if he is Moorish and that he will have to first fight the various gun charges he faces in state court.

US District Court Judge Denise Casper ruled today that the petition by Lucha El Por Libertad, formerly known as Steven Anthony Perez, of the Bronx, NY, to move his case to federal court fails on numerous grounds: He cites a section of federal law dealing with suits against foreign governments, which he is not; he relies on the theory, rejected over and over again by federal judges across the country, that as "a Moor American National of the Free National Government of Morocco," he is not subject to the laws of what some would call "states;" and that even if he were a "foreign national," he would still be subject to the laws of whichever state he was charged in, in this case, Massachusetts, where he faces gun charges, along with nine other men, for the high-powered weaponry they allegedly were carrying without a license on Rte. 128 on their way from Rhode Island to Maine.

Also, his assertions that the prosecutor and troopers in the case are "treasonous" slanderers and libelers is a legal conclusion that he failed to support with any facts, Casper ruled, adding he has failed to show how local prosecutors have deprived him of any of his constitutional rights. Part of the reason he feels he has been libeled and slandered is because he has been referred to as a "black sovereign citizen," even though he argues he is not Black and he is not a "sovereign citizen" just because he feels that only he and his fellow Moors are the only true "sovereigns" in what is now referred to as the US and that they are not citizens of the US.

Last week, US District Court Nathaniel Gordon issued a similar ruling involving a similar case brought by another of the Rte. 128 Moors. Several additional cases involving the 128 standoff remain pending in federal court; the defendants remain behind bars at an Essex County jail in Middleton in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Not that they need the help, but everything about these stories sounds like these people are being supported and egged on by nationalist groups and others looking to create instability and overturn gun restrictions.

It's not a stretch to think the Massachusetts laws they are charged with will be struck down by the Supreme Court if it makes it that far. It's also not a stretch to think there are some white nationalists group who want to use groups like the Moors as foils.
