Hyde Park man charged with 2017 rapes

Boston Police report the arrest of a Hyde Park man on rape and sexual assault charges dating to 2017, in part based on DNA evidence from rape-kit samples from his alleged victims.

Police say William Mancortes, 43, was arrested this morning by BPD and Milton Police officers. WCVB reports one of the alleged rapes happened in Milton and involved a passenger he picked up as an Uber driver.

Police say he was arrested on Boston charges of two counts of rape and one count of indecent assault and battery, as well as a warrant out of Quincy for one count each of aggravated rape and kidnapping.

Police say they are investigating Mancortes for additional attacks.

Innocent, etc.
