One day after Tulsa hospital murders, man threatens to blow up Cambridge Hospital, but is arrested before he can try anything, police say

Cambridge Police report arresting a local man who left Cambridge Hospital angry about something who then texted the hospital he'd be coming back with "a dangerous weapon" on Thursday.

The alleged threats by Brendan Donoghue, 25, came one day after a man shot four people to death and injured ten more, at a Tulsa hospital building.

According to police, emergency-room workers called 911 to report "an unwanted person who made verbal threats to the staff" before leaving. WFXT reports he was irate because staffers asked him to fill out some paperwork to get records related to treatment he'd gotten the night before.

According to police:

He then electronically communicated a threat of coming back to the hospital with a dangerous weapon causing multiple staff members to be in fear and have anxiety. Officers were able to locate Donoghue walking on River Street and Fairmont Street, and he was taken into custody.

Donoghue was charged with making a false bomb threat, police say.

Innocent, etc.

There was no place nearby for this person to impulse purchase an AR-15 or any other firearm and shoot up our hospital.

Gun control works.

There's always someone who knows someone who knows someone right in our own city who can get u a gun around the corner for short money without having to go to NH and fill out the paperwork. The only paper required is cold hard cash.

...you have tried this, and know from experience.

Because I'll bet you it wasn't purchased in Massachusetts.

Now, if you want to argue that federal gun reform would be more effective than doing it state-by-state, I'm all here for it.

Well... technically... we are bordered to the north by two states with weak gun laws, one of which can be reached in about an hour by car from Cambridge

Even if you do the speed limit. But yes, their gun laws do us no favors.
