Orange Line service service resumes through downtown; Green Line remains shut

The MBTA says it's resuming Orange Line service through Haymarket immediately - although the station itself will remain shut - because its deeper tunnel is safe.

The Green Line, however, remains shut at Haymarket:

Because most of the debris stemming from the partial garage collapse came down on the surface directly above the Green Line, structural engineers continue an intensive examination and assessment of the tunnels used by Green Line trains. Green Line service between North and Government Center Stations will remain suspended while this important work continues. Above the Green Line tunnel, MBTA personnel are on site, and working jointly with accident investigators and the developer's debris removal team.

Who are the inspectors? Tell us about bit about them. Education? Experience? Projects they've worked on? We deserve to know.

Why don't you call the T and ask for April?

You do deserve to know, but it appears you are too lazy to actually dig for information and expect others to do it for you.

Are you saying the T shouldn't have provided us with the CVs of all the engineers involved in this project?

It reminds me of a now deceased woman who used to rant about the local conservation commission telling her she couldn't put paving in her driveway owing to erosion and coastal bluff concerns.

She would rant about "Who do these people think they are?" again and again. They were of course, competent professionals appointed by the local selectman.

Nevertheless the uneducated rant on about "What about this? What about that?" and no answer will placate them.

Needless to say, the family of the woman who questioned the right to stop her from paving a dune, they are all hard core Trumpies.

It would be great it we could all gather under a tree in the town square and discuss every movement of government. The T actually does have real engineers and also has the ability to call on other professionals if needed but I am ok with the T not having to publish the names and quals of each and every person working in the tunnel. That is Heraldism.

Please give us your CV so we know you are qualified to review and vet the background of the engineers assigned to this project.

… the Orange Line will do nicely as a Pumpkin Coach for the likes of you.

And let me add, those who wear glass slippers …

It was great and a really fun experience and we ended up with awesome photos. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I don’t trust the safety of the mbta enough to step foot in an orange line subway .

Do you trust speeding texting drivers running red lights?
I have concerns as well about riding the Orange Line. But I figure with the indifference towards traffic control in Massachusetts compared with the scrutiny the T comes under, especially now, I’m safer underground.

About 40,000 Americans killed annually in car crashes versus about 0 Americans killed annually in subway crashes. The “I don’t take public transportation because it’s dangerous” crowd are not rational people.

I think that every time I see someone waiting at a bus stop for their sketchy Uber driver to come and block the bus.
