WCVB reports residents of the 16-story building weren't given any warning by the landlord that they have to find a new place to live immediately.

Give the Google reviews for this place a read. Comments about broken building equipment, rats and mice, bottom floors flooding, and unsafe conditions seem to go back at least 6 years.

With all the new fauxury buildings going up there, I’m sure the owners will get a nice windfall for the land. And I hope the city and tenants go after a lot of it.

Once worked a job through a private "human services agency" where several of our clients lived in that complex. It was extremely sketchy, run down, and unsafe feeling, and that was 15 years ago. Some of the clients were also sex offenders and afaik hadn't had to register or anything - the agency had some kind of deal with the landlord to pay for or manage the units - and I don't think any of the neighbors knew. The whole thing was very sketch but younger me didn't know any better.
