The rise and fall of Monica Cannon-Grant

Boston Magazine details Cannon-Grant's rapid rise as a figure to be reckoned with and her equally precipitous fall. Don't miss the part about former Suffolk County DA Rachael Rollins playing footsie with Turtleboy - well, if you can believe Turtleboy.

Seem more impartial than you? He was right about Cannon Grant, so why not believe him?

My point was that the district attorney was, allegedly, feeding information to somebody with a reputation for racism, misogyny and doxxing going back like nine years now. If true, that's a pretty disappointing thing to learn about her.

I was also profoundly disappointed to see Rollins’ supposed connection to all of this. If true, it’s beyond dirty politics it’s petty and gross.

Turtleboy is a despicable hate monger who clearly became obsessed with taking down Cannon-Grant by his own admission, but like the say about a broken clocks.

But Turtleboy has a long history of harassing, doxxing, and sending his minions out against totally innocent people who he doesn’t agree with. I don’t know how much credit he should be getting for maybe finding something this time.

Has there been any comment on this by Rollins? Was MCG's event schedule secret? The only other person that confirmed any of this is Dr Turtle boy and he isn't a reliable source of information, especially when it is about himself. I think Crawford has confirmed some of it on social. But as to Rollins, it is definitely a bizarre choice.

Tell 1: "The greatest gift Jesus gave us is the bullshit detector." My bullshit detector tells me that anyone who says that the greatest gift from Jesus is a bullshit detector is spewing bullshit.

Tell 2: Dianne Wilkerson was convicted in two decades for financial crimes. In the late 1990s when she admitted to tax evasion and then again in the 2000s. Ms Wilkerson clearly could not stop herself from committing financial crimes. Hard to take anything she says as credible.

Tell 3: Jamarhl Crawford using a website that would make Don the Con proud makes me wonder whether there is a bit of an Oreo in Mr. Crawford.

This is classic political assassination. This is also classic use and loose. The Gay rights movement began with loud people who were not proper folks. They were replaced by the folks who smelled better, talked nicer and acted with greater deference (i.e., nose browning) when the folks who had power saw potential money and votes. But only after eliminating the people who, like Ms Cannon-Grant, were no longer useful.

This also proves that the justice system of the US is still organized in a way that guilt and innocence are secondary. What matters most, as Don the Con has proven for decades, is that the money to manipulate the justice system is what matters most.

Even if Ms Cannon-Grant used funds in the same way that American leaders, including politicians, religious, academic and non-profits leaders use money not their own for personal use, but for supporting them in their "work," but transformed into a "respectable POC," or better, became a socially acceptable rainmaker (fundraiser), then there would never have been financial criminal charges. In other words, once she was no longer useful to those folks who already have money and power, it came time to get rid of her.

Doesn’t explain away mortgage and unemployment fraud.

Way to overlook two major charges.

Don’t think she’ll end up serving time over a few hundred dollar on Uber Eats.

In classic mortgage fraud, the fraudster gets multiple loans in excess of the property's value and then stops making payments. I am not disputing that this is fraud, and but it is more complicated. They borrowed 400K. They must be making payments because she is still living in the home. There are people that struggle with credit that assume that everyone lies on their applications.

she has proof of Rollins' involvement with my pet Turtle which is fucking disappointing to say the least, considering he pushed that road rage story all day long.

And remember that Cannon-Grant is being tried and convicted in the media before she's had a day in court.

If only she was Sal DeMasi, a thieving scumbag who lied about dying to get out of the can and is now a lobbyist.

It's a scurrilous rag, and its graphic design and formatting is as ugly as its content. Nobody should be cooperating with them to report news. I think much less of Rachael Rollins and Jamahrl Crawford (a BPDA employee!) if they indeed did this in order to knock down a rival.

An especially low blow-claiming she was unstable and kept a gun in a box under her bed -something he could not possibly know. No guns were found when federal agents searched her home.

The charges against Cannon-Grant are indeed serious, but Crawford’s actions against a political rival are deeply alarming.

Dianne Wilkerson, famously photographed stuffing cash into her bra, referring to Cannon-Grant.
