A lot of armchair urban planners and property developers (myself included) have come up with arguments for why converting office to residential is either desirable or not, as the case may be. It'll be interesting to see what some professionals make of that question.

I'm very interested to see how this turns out. It seems like a good use of some of these empty office buildings. The owner of the superman ( tallest) building in Providence has been working to convert the building from office to residential since Bank of America moved out 10 years ago. It's been a long journey, likely due to the costs involved vs the payback. https://www.wpri.com/target-12/could-you-afford-an-apartment-in-the-new-...

If heat and electric is included in the rent I could just barely live in the Superman building. I'd have to give up the full Comcast cable package though.
