Revere man who came into town thinking he was meeting with a fellow child-porn fan was instead arrested by undercover BPD and FBI investigators, DA says

A Revere man was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bail at his arraignment on child-porn charges following his arrest at a Boston hotel by undercover Boston Police detectives and FBI agents yesterday, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office says.

Sani Zuntu, 24, was charged with possession of child pornography and distributing obscene matter. In addition to bail, Boston Municipal Court Judge Judge James Stanton ordered him to stay away from anybody under 18 and schools. He will also have to wear a GPS device should he make bail, the DA's office reports.

Assistant District Attorney Alyssa Tochka said that on February 28 Zuntu initiated online contact with a covert unit made up of members from the Boston Police Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking units and the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. Zuntu initiated the communication by texting “hey, can we talk please.” During the course of the communication, Zuntu sent videos depicting adults sexually molesting children.

Later in the communication, Zuntu agreed to meet the covert investigators at a hotel room in Boston. When Zuntu entered the hotel room the investigators identified themselves and seized numerous technical devices from Zuntu, including an iPhone, an HP laptop and an iPad. Zuntu was arrested and booked.

The DA's office did not specify the hotel. Boston Municipal Court covers downtown, the North End, the West End and Chinatown.
