Strobing light under water off Harbor Point brings firefighters - who find somebody's crashed drone

Boston firefighters, including firefighters on a fireboat, responded to Dorchester Bay around 10:15 p.m. on a report of a flashing light about 15 feet off North Point Drive in Harbor Point.

Firefighters in survival suits went out - and discovered and retrieved a drone that had crashed into the water, rather than a submerged boat or car.

At first, the fire commander on scene had divers continue to respond just in case somebody went into the water to retrieve the thing and had also sunk under the waves. But before they arrived, firefighters found the owner on land.

That's an expensive drone recovery.
