DA: Three men charged for South End gun battle that left two cars, one apartment damaged, but nobody injured since they were terrible shots

Three men were arraigned on Monday for a May 6 gun battle in which at least 21 bullets were discharged with nobody getting hit in the area of Washington and Mystic streets in the South End, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Jaysiah Wood, 20, of Boston and Stiles Laboy, 18, of Chelsea, were among a group of six guys swaggering down West Dedham Street shortly before 9:30 p.m., when they left their pals behind and walked down Washington towards Mystic Street, where they started shooting at Brandon Chacon, 25, of Quincy, the DA's office says. Chacon returned fire.

By the time they were done and everybody fled, one car had its tire shot out, another car got a fresh bullet hole and a nearby apartment window was pierced by a bullet. Police recovered 21 spent casings and two bullets.

All three men were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, malicious destruction of property under $1,200 and two counts each of assault with a dangerous weapon, the DA's office reports.

A Boston Municipal Court judge orderd all three held without bail at least pending a dangerousness hearing on Thursday.

Beyond the chaos they wreaked that night is the story of how guns keep flowing into Boston, DA Kevin Hayden said in a statement:We know these guns are flowing in from states with lax gun laws. We need to get to the root of the problem by fashioning sensible national firearm purchase regulations.

Innocent, etc.
