You'll have your choice of protests Saturday against out-of-town men in suits marching down Comm. Ave. to demand we stop all the abortin'

A group of out-of-state Catholic men, possibly joined by some local Nazis, have decided to try to shove their will down our throats in a march Saturday morning from the Planned Parenthood clinic at Packards Corner down to the Common, where they will keen and wail and demand us godless heathens just stop all this nonsense immediately.

The Men's March to Abolish Abortion reserved a block of rooms at the Parker House and don't worry, they've arranged for some intercessionary praying by the womenfolk at St. Clement Eucharistic Shrine on Boylston Street in the Fenway.

But the good news: Some of the more serious local groups, like Boston DSA and the Mass. Feminist Struggle Committee, are organizing a counter-protest, of course, starting at 11 a.m. at Charlesgate Park, sort of a chokepoint on the path down Comm. Ave. to the Common.

Separately, there will be clowns - with face paint and big shoes and stuff. Clown March Boston is promising to go all out to honk at and razz and make funny faces at the out-of-town X-geners who think they know better than women.

Like always, we’re going to upstage them with a parade of clown costumes and circus music, and we could use your help. If you want to join the band, march alongside it, or otherwise get involved, get in touch.

The Men’s March is not welcome here, and we will not allow their narrative to go uncontested.

The spirit of antisemitism. Nazi. DSA. Progressive Caucus. &c…&c…

Signals of appeasement and pandering that must have flowed like a lightning bolt down the Democratic structure on the Monday after 10/7 tempering the good-seeming words from some of our State Representatives, Congressional delegation and civic leaders who “stand with Israel” and “support Israel’s right to defend itself,” which ultimately fell short of capturing the morality and reality of the moment as what they didn’t say stood out in silent solidarity with those who believe Jews “had it coming” for 10/7 and should be wiped into the sea.

I beg you to stop this nonsense. When you call everything anti-semitism, you devalue the term. The end result is you get idiots on the internet like yourself saying the progressive caucus and the KKK are the same thing.

As a jewish person myself, I can tell the difference between the people who want me dead and the people, like BERNIE F*ING SANDERS WHO IS JEWISH who want Israel to stop bombing civilians. The progressive caucus has plenty of jewish members. Frelmont, tell me how many neo-nazis are openly jewish?

I'm guessing you're a Christian. We don't need your twisted "allyship."

If we're going to go down the octogenarian president road, that's the guy I want. In fact, that's the guy who people in Iowa and New Hampshire wanted.

The Democratic Party told them no. I'd say that the Democratic Party paid the price if I actually believed that they're upset by a Trump presidency, which they're not.

up
19

There was no grand conspiracy, Sanders was not the choice of registered Democrats who voted in the primaries. Are you a registered Democrat? No? Then your opinion about who Democrats nominate doesn't count.

up
10

He tied Buttigieg in Iowa, and won New Hampshire.

Any other year, that's the guy. Democrats didn't really want him, so they waited until South Carolina morons picked Biden, then anointed him.

Also, do you know what "open primary" means?

WHITE people voted for him, and that's what matters, right?

The word of the Iowa and New Hampshire electorate was good enough right up until Bernie Sanders was the choice.

This had nothing to do with race. This had everything to do with the Democratic Party, which has no qualms about caucusing with Bernie on Capitol Hill, screaming bloody murder to keep him away from the White House.

Reminds me of MA voters sending Liz Warren to Capitol Hill, but, when it came time for vote for her in the presidential primary, suddenly, Joe Biden was the man to "stop Trump." How did that work out in the end? Did we stop Trump? Is he dead? Is he no longer seeking public office? Is he no longer winning elections?

But I believe Biden won against Trump, and is in fact the current president.

The DNC moved up the South Carolina primary before Sanders ran, and was talking about it long before he ran, precisely because the early states' primary electorate was extremely white and didn't represent the diversity of the democratic electorate.

With a 40% approval rating on his good days, and obvious cognitive declines, which his party coldly and crassly obfuscated us about.

And if the Dems really cared about "the diversity of the Democratic electorate" (which I hope you're not stupid enough to believe), the New York or California primary would be the first one.

The Venn overlap at antisemitism is real.

The Israelis are not the prime movers of injustice.

“Bombing civilians” is quite a loaded term. No one but Hamas wants civilians to die. War is always an atrocity.

So, Israel has a right to defend itself, but not to conduct a war against aggressors?

Maybe Senator Sanders fails to appreciate Israel’s peril and the need to respond to the enemy to stem a wider war, or a succession of wars

Maybe Senator Sanders is not in theory opposed to a just war, only he understands better than most the true nature and scale of antisemitism and the need to appease that force which cannot tolerate Israel’s existence and return home let alone its sovereignty and defensible borders.

Or maybe you're talking through your hat.

A thesis is a thesis.

Are you an end-times Christian?

up
18

Nope. I am not.

Nope. I am not.

Really. It's odd how much you present like one.

up
10

Nevertheless, I’m certainly not. Why is it that stereotypes of what people think others are is more important than what they say?

I get we’re well conditioned to use “othering” to win arguments- not even win arguments- what am I saying? Most people on a bandwagon are not there because of a proper argument. They’re there on the bandwagon for the base reasons of social status.

Political strategists dread each other's base learn to grasp and appreciate the theoretical underpinnings and virtues of the other view, because they’re loath to bet the farm on people making up their own minds.

up
10

What you are saying is not bad because you are (or maybe not) an end times christian. What you are saying is bad because it's smugly idiotic and wrong and dangerous to boot for people like me because it cheapens the term "anti-semitism" when you apply it to people like Bernie Sanders.

up
17

Anti-Zionism is way more antisemitic than it is not antisemitic.

The form of antisemitism that says Jews have no right to exist in their homeland is the coal that stokes the engines of many progressives, and progressives en masse dare not uncouple from that energy, that drive. Just as Jews are not a monolith antisemitism has subtleties too. I wouldn’t say that Bernie Sanders is an antisemite, but I would say it’s very possible his position on Israel is enabling antisemitism.

America is cut from the same cloth as Israel and when we fail to understand the nature of what Israel is pushing back against- and indeed some quarters here at home are lending a hand to her and our adversaries both in a geopolitical sense and in a core values sense, then we are undermining our values, security and domestic tranquility and sowing the seeds of discord and degeneracy.

Why is it that stereotypes of what people think others are is more important than what they say?

Maybe you should inform yourself about what end times Christians say about Israel. What you say has a certain similar tone.

up
12

I don’t care about eschatology. I not concerned about my tone being misunderstood, misconstrued and mischaracterized. I’m generally aware of the nature of evangelical support of Israel. My interest is in the here and now, morality, justice. When we denigrate a country with the same values and moral code as ours we will surely come to lose our rights and liberties here in America.

Why are you calling them Nazis?
You had the upper hand until then, Adam.
Let’s not reduce ourselves to hysterical name calling , pleas. It only gives them ammo
