A Brighton Municipal Court jury yesterday convicted John Biesiot, 36, of Chicago, on 15 counts of vandalism for incidents in 2008 and 2010 that left several T cars tagged up with nom de paint of Wyse, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Judge David Driscoll sentenced Biesiot to a year and a day in the Suffolk County House of Corrections, and will hold a hearing next month to determine how much Biesiot will have to pay the MBTA for cleaning up after him.

The jury found Biesiot not guilty of tagging up the Blue and Orange Lines, the DA's office reports.

A Red Line train felt death's icy grip at Alewife, leaving riders with little choice but to simmer and stew, or in the case of Chloe Gotsis at Kendall:

Ugh stopped train at Kendall and a man is yelling about the constitution.

Update he is now yelling about how he could be riding in a limousine but is down with the people. "Power to the people."

I can't keep calm! I ride the F***ing MBTA!

For a change, no train died on the Red Line. Instead, signal problems at Alewife are making life a living hell for riders.

The 7 a.m. train out of Franklin left this vale of tears in between stations.

At 7:28 a.m., Mike Connor tweeted:

It's officially snowing in Boston. Snow is blowing into the red line car "standing by for a moment" at MGH.

A train died on the Red Line this morning, of course, this time at Alewife. Also, the T reports issues on the Red Line and some commuter lines with slippery rail, caused not by the snow but by the pulpy, soaky remains of millions of dead leaves that just don't stop falling on the tracks.

Updated

At least two trains died on the Red Line this morning, one around 6:30 a.m. at Porter and another a little more than an hour later just outside Alewife.

It was the latter death that bollixed up the morning commute. At 8:19 a.m., Jessica tweeted:

Commuters have been waiting at N Quincy since 7:35am. When will there be room on the #mbta to get on? #freezing & it's not even snowing yet.

Around 6:40 a.m., Orange Line riders heading into town from the north got to join in on the fun when one of their trains died.

Literally: The power at the station went out around 9:45 p.m. At least one person is stuck in an elevator; the T is readying some bustitution.
