Remembering the nicest guy in rock 'n' roll

Carmen pays tribute to Brad Delp, the Boston front man who also performed with Beatles cover band Beatlejuice - and who died yesterday:

I was out with Steve tonight when I got Ms. N's message. He wanted coffee and just to go home, but after we got the news he was cool and whisked me over to Johnny D's. We drank a quiet beer. The crowd was doing OK. It just felt like any slow night, except that Johnny D's is rarely slow on a Friday, and except there was a bouquet of grocery store flowers on the stage, and except that the outside of the bar kept showing up on the TV in the corner, on Fox News or whatever, flashing an establishing shot of where we were, where the subject of the lead story was supposed to have been. ...

Scott Allen Miller says good bye:

... Thanks, Brad, for all the nights I spent as a teenager with only my stereo lighting the room while it played my scratchy "Don't Look Back" LP. Thanks, Brad, for keeping me company (and awake) for hours on long cross country drives while my cassette of Boston's first album got more and more worn out. Thanks, Brad, for being patient enough to complete the "Third Stage" album, which set the standard for 80s hard rock. Thanks, Brad, for the great show at the Meadowlands in '87! ...

Tai Irwin: Brad Delp was a North Shore boy, a down-to-earth vocal talent and soft spoken, gentle guy.

I'm still in shock. We really did lose the nicest guy in rock and roll. I've seen Beatlejuice many times and became friends with the band. Brad would always make time to talk to us after a Beatlejuice show, no matter how busy or tired he was. He'd always greet us with a big hug. My thoughts are with his family, fiance, friends, and band-mates. I'll always miss Brad and remember him very fondly.

I HEARD THIS ON THE NEWS & READ IT ON THE INTERNET THAT THE LATE GUITAR GREAT BRAD DELP HAS PASSED June 12, 1951 to March 9, 2007

MAY GOD BLESS YOU WITH ALL OF HIS GIFTS & KINDNESS

One of the greatest BAND'S to hit it big with all of their music I remember when they came to my home town in Upstate,Ny they sold out in no time @ all since hearing this I don't think "BOSTON" will ever record any NEW MUSIC & if they do I will be there to get the NEWEST Copy.

But I will have to say one more thing

I HOPE THAT YOU REST IN PEICE "BRAD DELP" YOU WILL BE MISSED DEARLY IN THIS WORLD BUT I KNOW THAT YOU WILL KEEP ON IN THE OTHER WORLD WHERE YOU ARE.
