That's probably not Tippi Hedren

Bird lady of Tremont Street

The Lady with the Cardboard Signs at Park Street looked more like the Lady Who's About to Be Eaten by Pigeons this morning when UncleRico23 snapped her photo.

If you do want to read her signs, without having to actually stand right there, Colleen Bryant took a photo of them from the rear. Something about taxation equaling slavery.

I've always referred to her in my head as Lady Who Never Shuts The Fuck Up, Ever. Banging on her damn can and talking nonsense all day long. I understand it's a public space and she has a right to free speech, just wish she would keep the racket down (that way people might actually hear what she has to say).

She's not as bad as the guy who wears hockey jerseys and spews Bible-beater bullshit at the top of his lungs like it's going to do anybody any good.

Seriously!! Every morning she's out there babbling, 'I need food money! I need your generosity!' over and over again. And those signs certainly don't make a lick of sense, but I guess what can you expect?

The bible guy rules. But only because he sports an old school Whalers jersey.

I wonder what her story is... it seems from the conspiracy/persecution thing and incomprehensible word-salad on the signs that she's schizophrenic. I know there's no good way to get her to take meds if she doesn't want them, but it saddens me to see mentally ill people who are evidently homeless and struggling.

She's usually got a chair and an umbrella, and wears relatively clean clothing appropriate to the weather so I'm guessing she's in touch with social service agencies of some kind, shelters or something.

Last week she had a whole bunch of seagull feathers poked into her hat. Before that she'd been using a Mylar FedEx mailer for a hat.

We could save a lot of money if all the mentally-ill only needed a jersey or a piece of cardboard and a place to yell.

Wow, it's not like she's screaming. She's got her little chant "I need to eat, give me food money today" and she just sits or stands there begging. I find that guy who goes around the Public Gardens asking people for money to be much more annoying.
