Up to $125 million in potential development near Dudley Square

The Boston Redevelopment Authority reports it's received four proposals for two vacant parcels near Dudley Square, including a $125-million project that would include 144 apartments as well as commercial and retail space.

The BRA says its staff will review the four proposals, then hold public meetings to discuss them. No dates were announced.

wonderful! more subsidized housing is exactly what those areas need. will they be required to actually work to be able to live in workforce housing? i doubt it. that would be asking too much.

Rename Dudley Square the "Seaport".

subsidized housing = keeping Dudley the 'ghetto'

So go to the public meeting and let your voice be heard! Also FYI the housing description in the proposal summaries are vague, "mixed income" and "workforce" can mean different things-- certainly there will be some subsidized housing but these developers aren't in it for charity, they're out to profit on this. I'm privy to one of these in detail, and if the others are anything like it you will be pleasantly surprised at the proposal. Bromley Heath these are not.

I don't think gentrification has extended that far down Washington as yet.

Lord knows the BRA would like to see that happen though.

It's actually three proposals to develop one of the two parcels, and two proposals to develop the other parcel.

There are two proposals for parcel 9, one for parcel 10, and one for both parcels 9 & 10.
