A blog for Bostonians who hate the Red Sox

Yes, of course, such people exist.

I...don't get it. I have lots of friends who couldn't care less about baseball, but none of them go to the trouble of actively hating it and trying to spread their hate. It's kind of like those athiests who are just as overinvested in convincing you there is no god as the fundies are in convincing you you're going to hell. They're both annoying.

It's especially annoying at a time like this. The town is excited - the Sox have overcome a lot. Let us have that without all the whining.

What exactly have they overcome? A multi million dollar paycheck? The poolboy resigned..or maybe the Bentley blew a gasket?..overcome? puhleeze

I understand how some people can dislike a sport or some other thing, and they're entitled to that opinion. But Susie clearly is just looking for attention, at least based on that first posting. It's all about the press clips she's gotten for writing wet blanket letters to the Globe and Herald. Oh, please. Give me a break. And yes, that's all she is: a wet blanket at a time when the city is overwhelmingly excited and happy about our hometown team. Go Red Sox!

Don't hate on the Red Sox, hate on the media coverage, esp. Fox 25 morning news who (each and every morning) always find something Red Sox related to bitch about: from their ALDS champagne celebration to Manny Ramirez.

Worse than hating someone or something is to IGNORE that person or thing. So Saturday night, I'll be doing something totally unrelated
to this, um, phenomenon...maybe go to Jimmy Tingle's last show at the JTOBT.

Check out this stuff - it's awsome for folks like us who are sick of hearing about the Sox!

That's great - the "B" definitely stands for bandwagon in my neck of the woods for sure!

An old lady in my apartment building -- who grew up here! -- told me today that she was rooting for the Patriots to lose last night. "They just run over everyone," she said.

(I don't think they'll go 16-0. It would be funny if their one loss is Miami's one win.)

Got the t-shirt. What's funny is the site's been reduced to complaining about the Revolution.

They just announced that Glenn Geffner is being replaced
by Dale Arnold.

Since I get 80% of Red Sox experience via radio, this
is bad news. Geffner was unlistenable (see
www.38cliches.com) but Dale Arnold is no kind of upgrade.
He's pretty much a master of the obvious. Ugh.

Bring back Trup.

Hubris and swagger are gone today in Boston. Fans now need to get lives and find something more worthwhile to spend all their money, time and emotional energy on. Will they? Will they find something to do that actually helps make the world a better place? Find role models who are actual role models, not steroid taking wife beaters (many, not all of course)????? Who jump ship at a moment's notice for other teams if they can make more money? Will social workers, pediatric nurses and first responders start getting paid more and egotistic, primadonna athletes less?
This all remains to be seen but in the meantime, I'm getting together with like-minded friends to celebrate! Then we are getting back to our causes and lives.
