Arrested in the wee hours: Three street artistes and a courteous armed thug

Alleged street artist
Accomplished teen author and alleged
street defacer Chase Koopersmith.

Boston Police report that around 3 this morning, officers spotted five people "dumping large buckets of paint" in the street at Calumet and St. Alphonsus streets on Mission Hill. Upon spotting the coppers, the junior Pollocks began to run. The three slowest ones (Northeastern, Mass. Art and Berklee represent!) got caught:

Two of the suspects stated to officers that they were making art and making the streets colorful.

Police cast a critical eye on their work and charged Chase Koopersmith, 17, Alisa Javits, 19, and Miguel Debraganca, 21, with a palette of crimes: Damage to property by graffiti/tagging, destruction or injury to other city property, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.

Around 2 this morning, police responded to a report of an armed holdup at 1443 Blue Hill Ave. in Mattapan: Guy was talking to his mom as he walked home when he was held up by two guys. After he handed over his cell phone, one of the thugs gave him back his SIM card.

Gregory Robinson, 31, of Mattapan, was arrested.

All arrested are, of couse, presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Now you know the real reason I originally got an account there - so I could look up teenaged and 20-something "Roxbury" and "Allston" residents whose names show up on BPDNews between Labor Day and Memorial Day.

Nothing like the "Friends Only" and "limited profile" options

; )

One thing funny I found is how to get pictures of people who put them to private.

(Hint: They're not really private, the link was just severed from the main profile.)

I suspect that they were up to painting the many exposed rock faces, cellar walls and retaining walls around that location.

Dumping large buckets of paint? Yikes! That goes into the Muddy River from that location, if I remember correctly. I hope that it was something relatively environmentally benign and water based or they should also be facing illegal toxic waste dumping charges.

so they were likely trying to watch how slowly paint can run down a hill.

I'd give them wire brushes and make them clean up every little speck. Next time paint the street in front of Daddy's house.

But I know what I don't like, and I
don't think I like this!

did you ever see one of those trails of paint that goes for miles and miles? usually at the end is some irishmans pick up truck with McSomething's Painting on the side.I had a friend that had this happen to a paint can in one of his trucks as he was getting off the pike at exit 17 in newton corner.it went right to his house in brighton.he used it to help people find his house from the pike."just follow the trail of white paint for 4 miles until you see my truck" sort of like an irish yellow brick road.
